LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Ā Huber's Starlight Distillery says changes in Indiana law will allow it to expand and produce whiskey, bourbon, vodka, and gin as well as wine and brandy.

The new law says artisan distillers can offer samples for tasting as well as sell spirits by the glass and the bottle.Ā  Previously, distillers could onlyĀ sell brandy directly to customers.

Huber's will announce more details of its plans for the distillery Thursday evening.

Master Distiller and Co-OwnerĀ Ted Huber said in a news release,"...with more than 550,000 visitors per year to our business, we have high expectations that we will deliver not only a quality spirits product but also a state-of-the-art view and tour into the world of artisan distillation."

Indiana State Representative Ed Clere said, "Indiana wineries and breweries have done a lot for economic development and revitalization, tourism, and job creation in communities throughout the state....There are similar opportunities with distilling, and now it will be possible."Ā

The Starlight Distillery is a division of Huber's Orchard, Winery, & Vineyards and has been around since 2001.
