LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The off-ramp to Jefferson Street from Interstate 65 South in downtown Louisville will be temporarily closed this weekend.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises the I-65 South off-ramp at Exit 136C to Jefferson Street in downtown Louisville will close at 7 p.m. Friday, March 20 and will reopen 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21.
The closure is so crews can finish bridge deck and concrete repairs and install new barrier walls, work that began August 2025 after KYTC said routine inspections found "the bridge was safe but in need of maintenance to preserve its long-term structural integrity."
Once the project is complete, the bridge will return to its standard weight-carrying capacity.
Drivers should plan alternative routes ahead and follow posted signage when traveling in the area.
