LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A new push from Indiana Gov. Mike Braun aims to put artificial intelligence to work for Hoosiers.
Braun unveiled the "IN AI" initiative Tuesday in a news release. The initiative is a statewide effort designed to help businesses bring AI into the workplace while growing jobs and boosting wages.
State leaders said the focus is on "human-centered" AI tools meant to support workers, streamline daily tasks and open the door to higher-paying, more skilled roles.
Through a partnership with the Indiana Corporate Partnership, businesses will get access to technical support, workforce talent and resources to help adopt the technology. The goal is reach more than one million residents in the state.
The rollout will happen in phases, starting with outreach and pilot programs to see what works best, before expanding statewide.
"Our goal is clear: grow wages, create more high-quality jobs, and position Indiana for long-term economic growth by making it the most AI-ready state in the nation," Braun said in the release. "IN AI is about making sure all of our businesses — from Main Street to large organizations — have the tools and talent they need to compete and succeed in a changing economy."
