LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Indiana University has banned fraternities from hosting large social events and serving alcohol following reports of hazing.

An October event at Phi Kappa Psi hospitalized two students, and Alpha Epsilon Pi incidents injured three, according to Fox 59.

The university’s vice chancellor for student life said several fraternities are under investigation, with more possible cases still being reviewed.

The restrictions include tailgates, group activities, and any events involving alcohol.

First-year students will no longer be allowed to break housing contracts to move into Greek houses, and campus police will increase their presence in Greek Life communities.

University officials said the measures are intended to protect students while investigations continue.
