LOUISVILLE, Ky (WDRB) -- An Indiana University professor was pulled from a graduate social work class after a graphic about white supremacy led to a student complaint, university officials said.
Jessica Adams showed the “pyramid of white supremacy,” a chart ranking phrases as more or less socially acceptable forms of racism.
A student argued that Adams used it to suggest “Make America Great Again” slogans and police killings of people of color were comparable forms of white supremacy.
IU administrators said the professor’s removal was due to a potential violation of state law, which limits teachers from presenting political views unrelated to their academic field.
Adams continues to teach other courses at the university.
