LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Investigators are looking for answers after a body was found in a box on South Park Drive Tuesday afternoon. Police say people riding ATV's found the body. It is something people in Okolona cannot stop talking about. "I actually seen it on Facebook, it came across my Facebook," said Josh Blanchard, who lives nearby the scene. "I really didn't realize it happened around the corner until today when I couldn't get down the road."
Police shut down part of South Park Drive near I-65 and the Gene Snyder Freeway late Wednesday morning while detectives searched for clues.
There is a creek in the area and police say the terrain in the area is making the investigation difficult. The body was found in a heavily wooded, secluded area. Police also used helicopters Wednesday morning as part of their search.
"Then you wonder who it is, hope it ain't someone you know," said Blanchard. That is one of the things police must determine. Who the person is, how he or she died, and how they got here. Investigators have not said if the body is male or female, although it was originally reported as a man's.
Investigators are still awaiting the results of an autopsy to find out how the person died.
"You don't just find bodies every day, but in the city of Louisville it's happening more and more every day," said Blanchard.
