JEFFERSONTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you own a porch goose in Jeffersontown, you may want to move it inside because there’s a goose wrangler on the loose.
Jeffersontown Police have received around seven calls reporting concrete geese stolen from front porches.
Now, the search is on for what police are calling the “J-Town Goose Wrangler.”
Thieves are stealing concrete geese from porches in Jeffersontown.
Ring doorbell footage shows a man stealing a concrete goose from someone’s porch. Video shows the man struggling to pick up the porch goose, which can weigh anywhere from 40 to 100 pounds.
“We were kind of shocked that somebody took the time because they’re heavy — because they’re concrete — so that somebody took the time to do that and stole them,” Alisia Kinser said.
The goose had a name: Sir Waddleson Honkington.
“Every month he had a different outfit on, and so the kids would actually say goodbye to him in the mornings when we would leave for school,” Kinser said.
Police say the thefts are happening in neighborhoods between Billtown Road and Stony Brook Drive.
WDRB also received another video showing two men running up and stealing two different geese named Opal and Pearl.
“It’s frustration and sadness that someone would come on your property and take something, especially that does kind of mean something to your family and that you’re having fun with and that the neighbors enjoy,” Kinser said.
Police have also received calls about other porch decor being stolen, including a 2.5-foot-tall snowman.
Police say similar thefts have occurred in some surrounding Louisville areas as well.
There are no direct leads on the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact Jeffersontown Police at 502-267-0503.
