JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) -- A Jeffersonville icon is now history.
Heavy machinery pulled away parts of what was Jerry's Restaurant on 10th Street Wednesday morning.
Mayor Mike Moore says the diner has been in his family since 1963, and the decision to tear it down was not an easy one. The kitchen was destroyed in a fire in March, and perspective buyers thought it needed too much work.
Moore says heĀ hasĀ been in talks with the Waffle House to move to the space, after the one downtown was torn down for the bridges project.
