LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- All eyes will be on Churchill Downs this Saturday. But before that, work is going on behind the scenes for the famed Derby Eve galas and parties across Louisville.

Weeks of preparation goes into the parties only the Derby City can throw.

The worlds of sports, movies, TV, and music will be in Louisville Friday night as the stars get ready for Derby 150.

Before the stars take to the red carpets, the action behind the scenes has been nonstop, with nearly a dozen major parties taking over Derby weekend.

Paristown is under quite a transformation for FanDuel's inaugural party. Miles of cable have been laid out and video monitors are up. Luke Bryan and Ne-Yo will be the performers.

"Knowing what this neighborhood looked like 10 years ago, and of course this whole community is about the same age as Churchill Downs, so we have a really close, historic tie with the track," said Jeanne Hit, Paristown Business Development director.

Downtown, the Trifecta Gala is also taking shape. Previously held at the Omni Hotel and the KFC Yum! Center, this year's event is next to Slugger Field and will bring its own star power. Gala attendees will dance the night away to a live performance by Bruno Mars.

Speakers have been going up in the Galt House Hotel, which will again host Unbridled Eve, which benefits Blessings in a Backpack. The red carpet is down and finishing touches will take place leading up to party time Friday night.

Over in the Highlands neighborhood, crews have been working for weeks at the home of Patricia Barnstable Brown for the 35th annual Barnstable Brown Gala. Conde Naste calls the gala one of the 10 best parties in the world. The guest list was released Monday.

Tents are being set up in the yard for guests like Kid Rock, Wynonna Judd, Aaron Rogers, Jack Harlow and more.

The Derby Eve gala has raised more than $20 million for the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center at the University of Kentucky.

"Almost anything can happen here," said Brent Rogers, production manager for the Barnstable Brown Gala. "One year we had Jason Aldean end up bringing Morgan Wallen and Sam Hunt, and they were sort of unannounced so we didn't even know they were coming until the last minute"

Back in downtown Louisville, Fourth Street Live! is getting ready for it's own Derby party with DJs Pauly D and James Kennedy. The Ice House, a few blocks over, will host the Sports Illustrated party, dancing into the morning hours with the Chainsmokers.

"Derby just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger, and I think a lot of these brands, a lot of these sponsors, a lot of these artists, a lot of these partners, they have realized how big the Derby has got, so I think Derby 150 is going to be probably the biggest but it's going to keep going up," Joey Wagner, with the J. Wagner Group, said.

Some of the parties offer tickets to the public, while others are invite-only and fill up at least a year in advance. Planning for many of next year's galas will start as early as this June.
