Kentucky Derby Festival offering race discounts on Global Running Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Derby Festival will offer special pricing for the 2026 races during Global Running Day.

The 2026 GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon and the Kentucky Derby Festival 5K will have discounted pricing June 4. The 5K race will be April 24, followed by the mini-marathon and marathon April 25.

"To celebrate Global Running Day, the Kentucky Derby Festival is opening registration for next year’s weekend of races with an exclusive 24-hour promotion," Chris Martini, Kentucky Derby Festival Race Director, said in a news release. "This is your chance to score deals on registration and secure your spot for the 2026 miniMarathon, Marathon and Festival 5K. Don’t wait to register, this deal is for one day only."

The promotion starts at midnight June 4 and goes through midnight June 5. The discounted registration will be available by clicking here.

The discounted prices will be:

$50 for the miniMarathon
$60 for the Marathon
$45 for the 5K
$50 for the Virtual mini & Marathon
$325 for the Marathon Relay

According to a news release, prices will gradually increase throughout the promotion window for every 200 participants who register. Special merchandise will also be available, including a running hat and headband.
