LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky is lowering the state property tax rate for the fifth year in a row.
Gov. Andy Beshear announced Thursday the 2025 rate will be 10.6 cents for every $100 of assessed home value.
That's down from 10.9 cents last year. Beshear said it's a step to help lower costs for Kentucky families at a time when prices are high and budgets are tight.
"Even if it's a small step, every step that decreases those bills a bit, every step that keeps more dollars in our families' pockets are important," Beshear said.
The state property tax is set by July 1 each year and it applies to all real property tax bills throughout Kentucky.
