LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some beautiful flowers were shown off in St. Matthews on Sunday.
The Kentucky Orchid Society held its 34th annual show and sale at St. Matthews Episcopal Church on Hubbards Lane. The show was free and open to the public as hundreds of orchids were on display.
Janet Smith, co-chair ofĀ Kentucky Orchid Society Annual Show and Sale, said there is a wide variety of orchids
"Orchids are one of the most diverse in nature, anything from tiny little orchids to huge flowers, every one you see is like a new adventure," Smith said. "A lot of them can grow in your house, you just have to provide for them."
There were hundreds of blooming orchids arranged in artistic displays by vendors from around the region. The two-day event also had educational seminars.
The nonprofit organization has around 50 members and encourages new people to join. To learn more about Kentucky Orchid Society, click here.
