LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet wants to hear from Louisville residents about a roadway improvement project for Watterson Trail from Plantside Drive to Blankenbaker Parkway.

KYTC will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. at the Middletown City Hall, 11803 Old Shelbyville Rd. People can stop by anytime during that time frame to review preliminary designs, discuss them with the project team and provide input. There will be no formal presentation during the public meeting.

After the meeting, an online survey will be available for additional public input. Information gathered from the public meeting and survey will be compiled and considered during the final design phase, KYTC said in a release.

KYTC said the project will improve existing roadway geometrics to better accommodate heavy trucks and increase sight distances near industrial and commercial developments.
