LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A local sanitation truck driver is being praised for his quick thinking.
On Monday between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m., Ladislo Barrabi came up on a fire at a business on Bardstown Road.
Barrabi grabbed his onboard fire extinguisher and bravely contained the fire until the fire department arrived.
"My heart was boom, boom, boom, but I had to do it," Barrabi said. "You know, but I had to do it. We work for the city, for the public, that's what we do, help people."
The Department of Public Works said thanks to Barrabi's quick actions, there was minimal damage from the fire.
