LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — After years of hospital visits, surgeries and dozens of seizures a week, a 10-year-old Louisville boy is getting the chance to live out a dream — stepping onto the pitch as part of Louisville City FC.
Grayson O'Barr signed a one-game contract with LouCity Thursday through a partnership with Norton Children’s Hospital, giving the young soccer fan a special role during the club's upcoming "Super Kid Night."
O'Barr will be with the team at its next game Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
For Grayson and his family, the moment marks more than a celebration.
He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2022 and epilepsy the following year. At one point, Grayson endured nearly 70 seizures a week before undergoing surgery earlier in 2026. His family said he is now seizure-free.
The 10-year-old will be recognized at halftime as Norton Children’s "Superhero of the Game."
The upcoming Super Kid Night game will also include a giveaway for young fans, with the first 1,000 children through the gates receiving a foam finger courtesy of Norton Children’s Hospital.
The gates open at 5:30 p.m.
