LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Get ready to rock, Louisville!
Thousands of music fans are getting ready for this year's Louder Than Life music festival that begins Thursday.
Organizers are making the transition from Bourbon & Beyond at the Kentucky Exposition Center to get ready for the rock and roll crowds. The barricades are up, and two of the largest stages in the United States getting ready for the festival to welcome 240,000 fans.
Crews were busy Tuesday transforming the site, draping, banners and fencing all being changed to welcome heavy metal fans from all 50 states and 50 countries. Two additional stages are being set up for a total of seven to welcome the 175 bands, which makes it the largest rock festival in the country.
$5 shuttle/parking option
Parking can come at a premium and sell out quickly so the event added even more ways to get here, according Chamie McCurry, the general manager of Danny Wimmer presents.
"It is new this year," McCurry said. "You can park at the PARC 4th Street garage for only $5 and then go to the convention center, hop on a shuttle. It's going to take you right to our main festival entrance and then it's going to take you back at the end of the night."
When it comes to tickets, four-day passes for Louder Than Life are sold out. Friday is sold out for single-day tickets, but there are a few remaining for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. To check for ticket availability, click here.Ā
