LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Arson is working to determine the cause of a fire Sunday night in the Portland neighborhood.
Louisville Fire & Rescue received a report of a fire at a two-story vacant house in the 100 block of South 30th Street at 6:44 p.m., according to a news release. Crews arrived on scene within two minutes and found the home engulfed in fire, with flames visible at the rear.
Crews had to deal with obstacles — including removing boards that were being used to secure the house — and a "burst supply line caused by a vehicle running over it."
Firefighters searched the home as they battled the flames and found no one inside.
It took 30 firefighters about 45 minutes to get the fire under control.
Nearby homes were protected, with minimal to no damage.
No injuries were reported.
