LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Ballet is encouraging people to be cautious when purchasing tickets through unauthorized resellers.
The ballet said tickets sold by unauthorized third-party vendors, scalpers and resellers will not be valid for entry. Those tickets can sometimes be sold at inflated prices, according to a news release.Â
Louisville Ballet said scalpers and secondary ticket brokers frequently create websites that mimic the appearance of the ballet's official website to deceive customers.Â
"These platforms typically sell tickets on speculation, meaning tickets may not even exist at the time of sale, or may represent seating areas that do not exist," Louisville Ballet released in a news release. "As a result, patrons could pay significantly more than the face value of the ticket for Louisville Ballet performances. Worse still, tickets purchased from these sites are not official, and entry to the performance will be denied."
Unauthorized resale platforms include StubHub, Vivid Seats, Tickets Center, SeatGeek, Event Tickets Center, TickPick and TicketSales.Â
Louisville Ballet encourages patrons to purchase tickets through its website or calling the box office at 502-583-2623.
