LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after being convicted of killing a 5-year-old boy.
On Wednesday, Edward Pearce pleaded guilty to several charges, including manslaughter, wanton endangerment and failure to stop and render aid.
Police say he was high on drugs when he drove a minivan onto a sidewalk in PRP in April of last year.
Authorities say Pearce hit and killed Benjamin Clem, who was riding his scooter while his family walked behind him.
Officials say Pearce left the scene, rather than stopping and helping the child.
