19-year-old shot outside of Mid City Mall, Louisville police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police is investigating a shooting that happened outside of Mid City Mall.

LMPD said officers responded just before 5 a.m. Sunday to the parking lot of the mall.

While officers were on their way to the scene, a 19-year-old man showed up to an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers determined this to be related to the incident.

Detectives learned there was an altercation in the parking lot that escalated into the shooting.

The victim is expected to survive.
