LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hundreds of people came together Saturday morning at Shively Park for an inaugural health walk.
This was for a cause close to the heart of radio personality and pastor, Rev. Brodric Purvis, who is using his own health journey to inspire others.
Last year, Rev. Purvis was hospitalized for several days, and doctors encouraged him to get more exercise, and he's been on a journey toward better health ever since.
The walk on Saturday attracted people from across Metro Louisville.
Several local leaders and representatives from Mayor Craig Greenberg’s office showed their support as they joined walkers for the mile-long trek around the park.
”He (Purvis) and I were talking a couple of months ago and trying to decide how to do something for the station and community to come together and this is one of the ways we thought, let's just have a walk, a health walk," said Steve Murphy, the VP of WLOU WLLV Radio.
WDRB's Stephan Johnson emceed the event.
