LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 17-year-old and 18-year-old have been additionally arrested in connection to the murder of a boy in Valley Station.

Officers responded to a shooting report May 6 at the Woods of Glen Hill Manor by Pond Creek, which is near Interstate 265. Officers found the victim — identified as Laith Rajha — with a gunshot wound to the head.

Rajha was taken to UofL Hospital in downtown Louisville in critical condition but later died.

Police said Saturday that 18-year-old Muhamud Hassan and a 17-year-old boy have both been arrested in connection to the murder. Both of them have been initially charged with complicity to murder.

According to court documents, detectives were told Hassan was "in control of the firearm and fired the weapon which led to the death."

Jamal Sheikh, 18, was also arrested hours after the shooting in the 13000 block of Bold Forbes Boulevard.

Police said Sheikh told investigators he was driving three people to the apartment complex to meet the victim for a gun transaction before Rajha was shot.

In addition to the complicity to murder charge, Sheikh is also charged with tampering with physical evidence, unlawful transaction with a minor and possession of marijuana.
