LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville-based youth medical education program is receiving national attention ahead of a major health summit in Colorado.

The Future Healers Kiddos Medical Program has been selected as the first Fellow Spotlight feature released by the Aspen Institute ahead of Aspen Ideas: Health Fest, scheduled for June 22–25, 2026, in Aspen.

The recognition highlights the program’s mission to introduce young people to careers in healthcare, including medicine, trauma care and medical innovation.

The honor stems from the Aspen Institute’s Global Innovators Healthy Communities Fellowship, where program leader Christopher 2X, executive director of 2X Game Changers, was selected as one of eight national fellows. He is now among more than 100 fellows who will gather at the upcoming summit.

The program was created through a partnership between 2X Game Changers, the University of Louisville Department of Surgery, the University of Louisville School of Medicine and the J. David Richardson Trauma Center.

Since launching in 2021 with 25 students, Future Healers has grown to serve more than 1,300 youth across Kentucky, according to organizers.

"This recognition belongs to the young people who have dared to see themselves as future doctors, nurses, surgeons and healthcare leaders," said Christopher 2X. "Aspen provides an opportunity to share what is happening in Louisville while building relationships that can create even more opportunities for our youth."
