LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fifth-grade teacher in Louisville was arrested Monday when she allegedly tried to meet up with one of her students after having "sexual conversations" with him.

According to her arrest citation, Louisville Metro Police detectives were contacted by Jefferson County Public Schools Police on Monday after Sydne Graf was reported to have "engaged in sexual conversations" with the student during the NTI day.

Graf is a fifth-grade teacher at Smyrna Elementary School, according to JCPS.

LMPD detectives reviewed the conversations between Graf and the student, which included discussions of oral sodomy with the student. According to police, Graf planned to meet up with the student later Monday but was arrested while picking him up near his home.

According to her arrest citation, Graf admitted to the conversations when questioned by police.

In a letter to families Tuesday, Smrya Elementary Principal Amanda Cooper said Graf will be reassigned and won't have any contact with students during the investigation. A judge ordered Graf to have no contact with minors in court.

"We know situations like this can cause anxiety for students and families," Cooper wrote. "Our mental health team is always available. If you feel your student would benefit from talking with our mental health practitioner or counselor, please let us know."

Graf was charged with procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means. She pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday morning, and a judge issued her a $100,000 bond.
