LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Zoo celebrated a special birthday for one of its most beloved residents on Saturday.

Qannik the polar bear turned 13 years old. She was rescued in the wild in 2011 on Alaska's North Slope after being separated from her mother.

Qannik would not have survived on her own. She was rescued and has been living at the Louisville Zoo's Glacier Run ever since.

The zoo on Trevilian Way held a Taylor Swift-themed birthday party because Qannik was a "fearless" ambassador  for her species and Arctic conservation.

"We want everyone to have a conservation era so we are providing the first 100 guests with posters on how there are 13 ways to help polar bears in the wild," said Kyle Shepherd, spokesperson for the Louisville Zoo.

Guests also sang to Qannik and she got some special food enrichment to celebrate her big day.
