LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man was hospitalized after being hit by a car early Monday morning in Okolona
In a release, Louisville Metro Police said a pickup truck driving west on Outer Loop, just east of Preston Highway, around 1:30 a.m. hit a man wearing dark clothing who was crossing the busy road against the traffic signal, not in the crosswalk. LMPD said the driver of the truck tried to swerve to avoid the man but hit him.
The man was taken by ambulance to UofL Hospital in downtown Louisville with what police said are life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck immediately stopped, stayed at the scene and called for assistance, LMPD said.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
