LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man who was about to stand trial in the murder of a Louisville woman took a plea deal instead.

Damon Malone was charged with murder, robbery, and burglary in the shooting death of 29-year-old Nakhia Williams in 2008.

Prosecutors say he and another man, Reginald Grider, forced their way into her home.

After taking items from the house, Malone was accused of taking Williams out back and shooting her in the back of the head.

Malone agreed to plead guilty to all charges and accepted a 35-year sentence.

Grider had already pleaded guilty to robbery and burglary and took a 15-year sentence.
