Members of 'Jesus and a Job' thank community for continued support

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Representatives from the group Jesus and a Job thanked the community Tuesday for helping with its mission to create job opportunities for people in west Louisville who have made bad choices in the past.

That includes employing ex-felons to renovate abandoned houses.

Metro Council says Jesus and a Job is making a real difference.

"If we don't have people working, we're going to have more dead bodies this summer," said Louisville Metro Council President David James. "And it's because of programs like Jesus and a Job, and other projects going on in West Louisville -- where we're going to put people to work and train people to have jobs,-- that'll help prevent this. Because without that, it's gonna happen."

The group also thanked Passport Healthcare and the YMCA for bringing more jobs to west Louisville.
