INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Five women past the age of 40 are rocking in their middle age in a band called Midlife Crisis.
Forty-two-year-old Stephanie Mueller tells The Indianapolis Star that she had never sung into a microphone before she joined the group.
Now, she says she can't imagine life with the band.
All of the women are enrolled in classes at a Carmel-based music school called the School of Rock.
The School of Rock started an adult class in March and now has nine middle-aged clients, including the women in Midlife Crisis.
Like many of her fellow bandmates, Mueller has had her share of personal challenges.
She's been a neonatal intensive-care nurse for 23 years. She's also has an autistic son. And she's in getting divorced after 20 years of marriage.
