LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A motorcyclist was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday evening after a crash on Dixie Highway.
The crash was reported at 6 p.m. at Dixie Highway and Dixie Garden Drive, Louisville Metro Police Spokesman Sgt. Matt Sanders said in a statement.Â
Once on scene, police found a Jeep and a motorcycle had crashed. Investigators believe the driver of the Jeep was headed south on Dixie and turned into the path of the motorcyclist when they attempted to turn left into a Kroger.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected when he collided with the Jeep, Sanders said. He was taken to University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition.Â
Sanders said the driver of the Jeep stayed on scene and is not facing any charges at this time.
All lanes of Dixie Highway near the Gene Snyder Freeway were closed as police investigated and cleared the scene.
