LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Water Company and the Metropolitan Sewer District are starting to join forces.
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced Friday morning that the two utility companies will now share customer service, technology and human resources, among other services.
Fischer says this is just the next step to combining the two companies into a new system called "One Water." A plan to merge the two has been in the works for about three years. Fischer says combining resources will save money for the city and for Louisville customers.
The agencies plan to continue working toward bringing together all of their operations in the future.
