LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — If you're a bowling fan, an event in Louisville this week should be right up your alley.
The nation's top collegiate bowlers will compete at Kingpin Lanes in Jeffersontown starting Monday with the singles. The week caps off with the 50th edition of the team competition this weekend.
Louisville was chosen to host because of its strong bowling community.
"There's just a huge bowling community here, so when you can bring an event like a national championship with people from around all parts of the country and the world to come to this community and celebrate it, see what it's about, it's really what we did because it's such a strong bowling community," Gary Brown, with the Collegiate Bowling Tournament, said.
Somewhat similar to basketball, the top teams from four regions around the country make it to the finals along with the top singles players.
