CRESTWOOD, Ky. (WDRB) -- The old South Oldham Library reopened Thursday as the Crestwood Library with a ribbon-cutting event complete with kids activities and free library swag.

Crews have been renovating the building on KY 146 over the last few months. Library Director Julie Wilson said Thursday that adults are reading more e-books, so they made the adult book section smaller and the kids section larger.

"It's just a place for families to get together, to get to know one another, make friends ... stay connected in the community, and that's so important now, ... more than ever, to make those community connections," Wilson said.

The Crestwood Library will be open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"The patrons that come here are really dedicated to this branch," Wilson said. "So they deserve the facelift and an update."

The library is providing tours and activities for kids until 7 p.m. Thursday.

Across Oldham County, Wilson said construction at the new Goshen library location should be finished by the end of the summer.
