LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new resource for affordable child care just opened in southern Indiana.
Officials from the Prosser Career Education Center cut the ribbon Thursday morning on its new day care facility.
It will help provide a low-cost child care option for families in the area. High school students enrolled in Prosser's Early Childhood Education program will help care for the children and gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting.
"We feel like this program is not only going to contribute immediately to the education of our high school students but it's going to have a long lasting impact," said Nancy Campbell with the Prosser Career Education Center.
The new Pre-K day care facility will take care of 3- and 4-year-olds and follows the New Albany/Floyd County Schools calendar.
The fee is $150 per week for 185 days of childcare.
