LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- One person was taken to the hospital after a house fire Tuesday night in Fern Creek.

Assistant Chief Dewayne Hutchens with Fern Creek Fire said firefighters were called to the Stone Bluff Subdivision just before 10:30 p.m.

Fern Creek, Jeffersontown, and Okolona fire departments responded to the fire, which showed heavy flames and smoke coming from the house.

It took 20 firefighters about 10 minutes to bring the fire under control, Hutchens said. The house sustained heavy damage.

One person was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
