LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Inspections will limit access to East End Tunnel on Oct. 2.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said routine inspections will close access overnight from 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 to 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3.

The Gene Snyder Freeway/Interstate 265 will be closed beyond exit 37 to U.S. 42 in Prospect. The closure will limit access to the East End Tunnel/Lewis & Clark Bridge to Jeffersonville, Indiana.

The suggested detour is to continue south on U.S. 42 to I-264 East, then take I-71 South to I-65 North to the Abraham Lincoln Bridge.

The inspections on the previous direction are done, so this is expected to be a final closure.
