LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Chuy's Restaurant says it's hoping to find out what caused a ceiling panel to fall down onto a family eating dinner at its Louisville restaurant.

Until the problem is fixed, a section of the restaurant is shut down. Chuy's says it's also doing an inspection of the whole building.

George Pate, an inspector with Louisville's Codes and Regulations Department was called to inspect the Chuy's Restaurant Sunday night.

He says a wood panel four feet by four feet came crashing down onto a family of four eating dinner. He says, "When I arrived, I saw a panel from the ceiling that had come loose." He went on to say, "When I went in, I did another brief inspection of the remaining panels of similar construction in that room, saw one and possibly another one that maybe been pulled loose when that panel fell."

It happened in the restaurant's "Basket Room" where several baskets hang from the ceiling. And, Pate says baskets fell down with the wood panel too. He ordered the restaurant to shut down the room until it's fixed.

Ashley Ingle, the Chuy's Restaurant Director of Marketing says she's not sure what caused the panel to fall down. She says, "We actually have had the building inspector and general contractor out there to assess the situation and get it fixed in the next few days."

Pate says, "As to why it fell, I don't know." He says he'll require the restaurant to let him know what it will do to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Chuy's says the family of two children and two adults went to the hospital, but have since been released. No word on their exact injuries.

Ingle says, "Until we get in there and figure out what happened I think it's hard to point fingers and say what caused it. I think it was a random thing that happened."

Chuy's says many of its restaurants have hanging baskets, but the ceiling has never come down before. Chuy's says the baskets are light.
