LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A small plane that departed from Bowman Field in Louisville crashed in the Mt. Washington area on Monday.
Mike Gravens, the assistant fire chief for Mt. Washington, said a call came in around 2:19 p.m. that a small single-engine plane clipped a tree line.
The plane then crashed in a field near Mt. Washington United Methodist off Flat Lick Road, Gravens said.
According to Gravens, the pilot, who was the only one in the plane, suffered minor injuries and is expected to survive.
Gravens said it's unknown at this time why the plane was flying so low.
Natalie Chaudoin with the Louisville Regional Airport Authority said in a statement the plane was a Pitts S-1C Special biplane and the aircraft arrived at Bowman Field on Sunday night.
