LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Protesters gathered in front of the federal courthouse in downtown Louisville Thursday evening against what they say are attacks on civil rights while honoring a late civil rights leader.

The protest was held at Sixth and Broadway in front of the Gene Snyder Federal Building as part of a "Good Trouble Lives On" protest in honor of civil rights leader and Congressman John Lewis on the fifth anniversary of his death.

Organizers, with the Indivisible Louisville Chapter, said the protest was also held in opposition of President Donald Trump and what they see as attacks on civil and human rights by his administration.

The goal was to create a "human chain," stretching as far east and west as they could.
