LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Those in recovery now have a new place to go in Louisville's Germantown neighborhood.
Recovery Café is open to anyone facing homelessness, substance abuse or other forms of trauma.
Every Monday morning, the group has conversations over coffee, with a peer support group at 10:30 a.m.
The café provides people in need with meals, wellness programs, and training for employment readiness.
Membership is free for the peer-run program.
"We're bridging the gap between the good stuff that's happening at a treatment center, and the support people need on a daily basis," said Sarah Charmoli, cafe co-owner.
The directors hope to host bigger events, such as sober socials, down the road.Â
Recovery Café opens its doors at 10 a.m. every Monday, with a group workout closing the day at 6 p.m.
It's not a faith-based organization, and welcomes everyone.
