LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — More road construction is coming to Interstate 64 in the Louisville area.
A $14 million contract was awarded for rehabilitation to Interstate 64 through Jefferson and Shelby counties, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said in a news release on Tuesday.Â
Work is to start Monday, March 18 at 6 a.m. between 19.44 and 27.88 mile markers on eastbound Interstate 64. Drivers should be aware of changing traffic patterns, lane shifts and closures through the construction zone.
Crews will mill and remove existing pavement and replace it. Other improvements include bridge repairs, subgrade repairs, and guardrail repairs and installation.
KYTC said the project will extend the life of the pavement and fix potholes, giving drivers a smoother ride.
E & B Paving Company of North Anderson, Indiana will be doing the work, which is expected to be completed this fall.
