LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The personnel file for Simpsonville's police chief sheds new light on his recent suspension.
Chief Thomas Brummer was suspended with pay for up to 30 days, effective immediately after a July 21 city meeting, according to the meeting minutes.
Brummer was suspended after a "credible allegation" of harassment and violations of performance and conduct.
According to his notice of suspension, Brummer had to surrender his badge and all other department-issued equipment.
The notice also said he can return to work Thursday, Aug. 20, unless he's notified sooner, and will meet with the city administrator and commissioner.
The city said it hired Advanced Investigative Solutions to look into Brummer's case.
Sgt. David Alkins was named acting chief of the department.
