SKYN Lounge expands to Norton Commons with new boutique spa location

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A St. Matthews spa known for its skincare-focused services has expanded to Norton Commons with a new boutique location inside a hotel.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, SKYN Lounge opened its second location inside The Purple Martin hotel on Meeting Street.

The new space opened June 16 following an eight-month buildout, owner Erica McDowell told LBF.

The Norton Commons location is smaller than the original Chenoweth Lane spa in St. Matthews but offers a similar menu of services, including customized facials, chemical peels and dermaplaning.

The expansion marks the spa’s second location after 16 years in business in St. Matthews.

SKYN Lounge specializes in a narrow range of skincare treatments and has built a client base of more than 10,000 people.

McDowell said the business has focused on maintaining a niche approach rather than expanding into a wide range of spa services.

The company is leasing space inside the hotel, allowing it to serve both residents and visitors in Norton Commons.
