LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A southern Indiana police force is now using body-worn cameras.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office said in a release Tuesday that Patrol Division officers are now equipped with AXON body-worn cameras after undergoing training last month.
"Transparency and accountability are top priorities for this agency," Clark County Sheriff Scottie Maples said in the release. "By adopting body-worn cameras, we are further enhancing our commitment to serving and protecting the community in a responsible and open manner."
The department said the cameras "will provide both the public and the department with a reliable record of patrol activities" while boosting trust and understanding within the community.
