LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A student was taken into custody Tuesday after a fight broke out on a school bus in the St. Matthews area, police said.

Just before 4 p.m., St. Matthews police found the bus stopped with its hazard lights flashing. When they boarded to break up the fight, one student refused to leave and resisted arrest, police said.

The student was eventually taken into custody and is now being held at the downtown youth detention center.

Authorities said the incident is under investigation and reminded students and parents to report unsafe behavior on school buses.
