LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 45-year-old Oregon man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly stabbing a 15-year-old boy near Waterfront Park.
Louisville Metro Police said officers responded to a stabbing on North Floyd Street and East Witherspoon Street around 10:21 p.m. after Thunder Over Louisville.
When officers arrived, they found a teen boy who had a laceration that came from an altercation.
The victim was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to court documents, 45-year-old Vasilis Sakellaridis was arrested and charged in connection to the stabbing.
Court documents state witnesses pointed out the suspect to police as he was running away. Officers yelled at him to stop but he continued.
Police said they saw a knife in Sakellaridis' hand as he was running away and he eventually dropped the knife.
Court documents claim police also found homemade brass knuckles above his right hand. Police said he was "highly intoxicated and causing alarm to other event participants."
Sakellaridis is facing charges of assault, alcohol intoxication in a public place, disorderly conduct and fleeing or evading police.
In court Monday morning for his arraignment, Sakellaridis pleaded not guilty and a judge set his bond at $25,000 cash.
