Since January of 1961, the Hanselmans have been the proprietors of the Schnitzelbank Restaurant, a well known landmark in the predominantly German community of Jasper, Indiana.
The Schnitzelbank Restaurant has gone through several transformations over the years and is at present a family oriented restaurant complete with catering and banquet facilities.
The spacious bar serves up a full line of imported beers, including a German wheat beer, several draft beers from Germany, as well as German schnapps, and a variety of German & Indiana wines.
Schnitzelbank specialties include delicious entrees like Beef Rolladen, Sauerbraten and their famous 2" hickory smoked BBQ pork chops (smoked at the restaurant). Side dishes of marinated sauerkraut, red cabbage, potato glaze and more complete the German taste experience! You'll find such Deutsche treats as Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage, Potato Glaze and the best German Fried Potatoes this side of Berlin (Germany, that is).
