LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A home caught fire in Louisville's Okolona neighborhood on early Thursday morning.
The call came in in the 4:00 hour on early Thursday morning of a structure fire in the 10500 block of Old Preston Hwy.
According to Okolona Fire Chief Mark Little, two people were inside the home when smoke detectors went off and alerted them to get out of the house and call 911.
The Okolona Fire Department gave a quick response to the scene as they were located right next door to the home.
Upon arrival, fire officials located flames coming from the first floor of the home.
Fern Creek Fire Department, Fairdale Fire Department, and Zoneton Fire Department were all on scene to assist with the situation, according to Chief Little.
An adult and a child were displaced from the home, but no injuries were reported.
Chief Little said in an interview on Thursday morning with WDRB that he believes the fire started in the basement, but an investigation will confirm more details.
Fire officials are in contact with the American Red Cross for the two displaced.
