LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville Athletics has unveiled new jerseys honoring former Cardinal and current NBA star Donovan Mitchell.

The uniforms, revealed on social media, feature Mitchell’s Adidas signature logo along with spider-web detailing on the sides — a reference to his nickname, “Spida.”

Mitchell, who played at Louisville from 2015 to 2017, is the first active NBA player to have his personal logo appear on a jersey worn by his alma mater.

UofL officials said the design recognizes Mitchell’s lasting impact on the university and his continued success at the professional level.
