Update: 2 dead in boating incident at Rough River Lake in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people are dead after a boating incident at Rough River Lake early Sunday morning.

Falls of Rough Fire Department Fire Chief David Mercer said Sunday that a collision happened at the Cave Creek boat ramp. One person died, and one person had been missing.

A Louisville Metro Police spokesman said its Underwater Search and Recovery was contacted by Kentucky Fish & Wildlife to help search for the missing person from a fatal boat collision.

LMPD said its team helped recover the second victim in the Cave Creek area in Grayson County around 4:15 p.m. Sunday.

Authorities are investigating how the crash happened.

The Falls of Rough Fire Department said early Sunday that the boat ramp would be closed during the investigation.
